This manual is intended for all users of the Kube laser marking system.
It provides all the necessary information on how to use and maintain the laser machine.
Follow all instructions, especially those concerning maintenance, to avoid misuse which would invalidate the warranty.
Since it is impossible to describe everything that can or cannot be done with the machine, in the event of a process not described in this manual, please contact NWS LASER’s Technical Department for appropriate information.
All personnel involved in the installation, operation and maintenance of the machine must have read and understood this manual.
Important safety instructions
This manual must be passed on to future users.
Provides important information on machine operation and applicable safety rules.
- From the moment the machine is switched on for the first time, the user acknowledges that he/she has been informed that the equipment supplied is a class 1 laser in normal use of the machine, and a class 4 laser in maintenance or adjustment mode. Maintenance or adjustment mode means physically modifying the machine to gain access to protected and enclosed parts of the machine, and is reserved for technicians duly authorized by the vendor.
Consequently, the user undertakes to assume all responsibility for the use, storage and maintenance of the laser marking system. - The user is responsible for all damage to persons and equipment caused by failure to comply with safety standards.
- LaserKube must not be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or by persons lacking the experience or knowledge described in this manual.
- LaxserKube is designed for indoor use only.
- Always connect the LaserKube to a power supply rated between 220 V and 240 V and to an earthed socket.
- To avoid electric shocks, do not use extension cords.
- Use this device only for its intended purpose.
- Prevent the power cord from touching hot surfaces or coming into contact with rough or sharp edges.
- Always unplug LaserKube when cleaning or not in use.
- Never attempt to open LaserKube, disassemble a housing or any other part of the machine.
- Do not modify, move or remove safety devices.
- When moving the LaserKube, ask someone to lift the machine to prevent damage and/or personal injury.
- Do not operate LaserKube with a damaged cord or if the machine has been dropped or damaged. Call our technical service department to have your device inspected or repaired.
- Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of LaserKube.
- Do not use LaserKube in damp locations or near heat sources.
- Install LaserKube where the plug is easily accessible. Unplug LaserKube when not in use to avoid risk of fire or electric shock.
- If you hear strange noises, smell unusual odors and/or detect smoke coming from the machine, unplug it immediately and contact our technical service.
- Do not open the drawer while the machine is burning.
- Never attempt to engrave flammable materials or materials that may give off toxic fumes during engraving.
- Always use a system to treat the fumes and particles generated during laser engraving. A connection socket is provided at the rear of the machine to install an air extraction and treatment system.
- Keep fingers away from pinch points. Take care when opening and closing the machine drawer.
- Exercise caution when installing, handling and using LaserKube.
During operation and maintenance of the laser system, the user is responsible for following and enforcing the appropriate safety standards for working with a Class 4 laser.
(Standards NF EN 60825-1; EN 207; EN208 – Directives 2006/25/EC, 2006/42/EC and 2009/104/EC – Decree 2010-750 of the French Labour Code).
